The Community Resiliency Model (CRM)
trains community members to help themselves and others within their wider social network. The goal of the CRM is to create “trauma-informed” and “resiliency-focused” communities that share a common understanding of the impact of trauma and chronic stress on the nervous system.
CRM skills help people understand their nervous system and to learn to track sensations connected to their own well-being. The primary focus of this skills-based model is to reset the nervous system’s natural balance. Using the wisdom of their own bodies, people experience rapid relief from stress-related symptoms, as well as an increased sense of control over future wellness.
