updates
October
· Our biggest success is the After School Program we started last year on Tuesdays. We provide a safe place for students to go after school with a healthy snack and activities for all ages.
· This year we expanded our services to two days a week, Tuesday and Thursdays at the MVCC from 4:00-5:00 and hired two local moms to take over as the coordinator/ program helper
· Snack Program- we partnered with Natural Grocers to provide snacks and start a pantry for parents to pick items out of. The take home pantry offers over $200 of food items each week for families in our area. By Nov 11th we will have served close to 700 meals. There are an average of 35 students showing up to each after school program.
· Black top activities-Kristi Schiermeier donated $2000 from the Community Thrift store and partnered with Temera at the New Meadows school to make this a safe place for students to play re-doing the black top. We now offer basketball, pickleball, corn hole, tug of war and other outdoor fun for play.
· Partnering with the City for the Mural Project Painting. $1500 worth of supplies on credit @ C& M for this project. Submissions are due to the city by Oct 17th
· We received $2500 more than our asking price from the Fosdick Grant for a total of $8,500 Penny, Kristi and Betsy attended the event Oct 12th and received the award.
· We will be hosting a Community Chili Feed on Monday, November 11th at the MVCC from 5:30-7:00 to honor any Veterans that live in New Meadows and to give an update about all the things we have been providing for the community in the last year. Free Chili and Dessert will be provided.
